every park tells a story

The City teamed with Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Division (HPD) in 2019 to complete a survey of the city’s parks and to identify resources within them. The City stewards over 3,000 acres of land that lie within its 373 parks. HPD funded the survey of Atlanta’s city-owned parks and New South Associates, under contract to the City of Atlanta, conducted the survey June through September 2019.
